Preparing a memorial donation
We are there to help you prepare your memorial donation. Please contact us by phone or email. We can go through all the relevant steps together and clarify any unanswered questions. You will find our contact details on the right-hand side.
Written request for a memorial donation
You can ask for donations in the name of your loved-one in the obituary and in the letter of mourning. Ask your family and friends to use a pre-defined keyword for the donation. This shows your solidarity in mourning and helps us to allocate the incoming donations to your memory.
You can use wording such as the following to request a memorial donation:
'Instead of flowers and wreaths, we kindly ask for a donation to United4Rescue in memory of [name]. The association supports civil sea rescue in the Mediterranean. Please use the keyword: “______________” for a donation to the following account:

Collecting donations at your funeral service
Alternatively, you can collect donations at the memorial service or funeral, e.g. by setting up a donation box. You can then transfer the total amount to our donation account.
We will be happy to provide you with free material informing about the work of United4Rescue. Please contact us by email to order the material.
After the funeral service
On request, we will send you an overview of your memorial donation four weeks after the funeral.
This overview will contain the names of all donors who have donated using your keyword. We will also let you know the total of donations for civilian sea rescue under the keyword. For your information: For data protection reasons, we do not provide an overview in which donations are assigned to individual persons.
All donors will receive a donation receipt in February of the following year.

Which impact has a donation to United4Rescue?
With a donation to United4Rescue, you help sea rescue where money is most urgently needed. For example, for the purchase and conversion of rescue vessels, for equipment or operational costs. United4Rescue helps unbureaucratically across organizations with a focus on the feasibility and professionalism of funding requests. How to choose a suitable keyword for the memorial donation?
You can choose the keyword for your memorial donation so that it corresponds to your ideas and your memory. Relatives often choose the name or nickname of the their loved-one. It is helpful for us to know the keyword at an early stage so that we can match all incoming donations to your memorial.
When and how do I receive a donation receipt?
You will receive your donation receipt in February of the following year as an annual donation receipt. We need your address for this! Amounts up to € 300 can also be claimed from the tax office with this "simplified proof of donation". Simply submit this with proof of transfer, for example your bank statement.
Can forwarded donations from third parties receive their own donation receipt?
No. Donation receipts may only be issued for the person or organisation that transferred the donation. Only those who donate themselves can receive a donation receipt. Please draw attention to this if, for example, you are collecting donations in a circle of friends.
